Hillary Clinton has officially been sworn in to replace Condoleeza Rice as Secretary of State. And, now, Sharon Bulova has won Virginia’s Fairfax County Chair, left vacant by Gerry Connolly. The stage is set, and it will not be long before a public battle on behalf of America’s communities is waged by Virginia’s 10th District Representative Frank Wolf and ACT! For America’s Northern Virginia DC Metro Chapter Head Catherine Martin. Brigitte Gabriel’s ACT! For America may be the strongest new political grassroots movement to hit the American national scene in the wake of 9/11. With a 50,000 strong membership and a steady influx of new recruits and volunteers, ACT! for America’s chapters span across the United States and beyond. I recently had a chance to sit down and discuss the street level activities of ACT! for America with the NoVa/DCMetro chapter head Catherine Martin, who has made it her life mission to “educate United States citizens as to the threat of radical Islam”. With a volunteer staff of 70 committed Virginia and DC activists, Catherine Martin understands full well that her chapter is in the vortex of a brewing storm.

“The question of the legality of the Islamic Saudi Academy’s curriculum in Fairfax County is not going away,” Catherine says matter of factly. “As a mother and as an American, I find it outrageous that the school teaches children to hate Americans, Christians and Jews. Brigitte Gabriel’s ACT! for America is supporting us all the way on this mission as we continue our fight against ISA’s jihadi indoctrination right in our very own backyards - as we bring the issue directly to the people of Virginia and across America. Representative Frank Wolf has been an ally and strong advocate for us at ACT! for America. When a coalition of groups here in Virginia demanded that the Islamic Saudi Academy be investigated for having anti-American and anti-Israel teachings in their textbooks, Congressman Wolf sent four letters to the State Department requesting an investigation of the school and its curriculum. Since our grievance has not yet been fully addressed and the election cycle has ran its course, we will immediately engage the new leadership on behalf of our communities. A fifth letter from Congressman Wolf is waiting at the State Department for the incoming Secretary of State.”

When asked what this fifth letter was designed to accomplish, Martin notes that, “Hillary Clinton is replacing Condoleeza Rice in the State Department, so we now have a fresh opportunity to have our concerns heard at the State Department level. What most Virginia and DC residents are unaware of is the fact that when the original letters were issued by Congressman Wolf’s office, the State Department decided to bounce the request to the Fairfax County Supervisor, Gerry Connolly. Connolly refused to launch an investigation of the school and actually referred to ACT! for America and Representative Wolf as bigots for requesting the investigation of the Islamic Saudi Academy. Empty, racially charged, accusations from the likes of Connolly do not change the facts or the texts in question. So, we are now taking our reasoned concerns about ISA’s curriculum of hate to Hillary Clinton and are prepared, if necessary, to confront the Fairfax County Supervisor Chair, Sharon Bulova, should the new Secretary of State refuse to see the writing on the wall and attempt to evade the truth by passing the hot potato down the line. With allies like John Cosgrove over at United Action Committee, Jim and Andrea Lafferty with the Traditional Values Coalition, and Christine Brim at the Center for Security Policy rallying to defend American communities, the Islamic Saudi Academy will be forced to close its doors or submit to being subject to a transparent curriculum. ACT! For America’s battle with the ISA over its curriculum is only beginning.”

Last June 25th, Chuck Hagee noted in the Mount Vernon Gazette that “debate about the school’s curriculum was ignited in October 2007 when the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom issued a report calling for the school’s closure ‘until such time as the official Saudi textbooks used at the ISA are made available for comprehensive public examination in the United States.’” In addition to the USCIRF report, Hagee notes in a September 24th follow-up piece that “To buttress his request, Wolf included a recent report by the Heritage Foundation that stated ‘ISA is subject to the terms of the Foreign Missions Act’ and that it is within the State Department’s powers to declare ISA ‘a foreign mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.’” The article closes with Gerald Connolly remarking on the absence of Commission or State Department objection to the lease renewal to ISA or the textbook controversy in a public hearing on the matters before the Board.

When discussing the Hagee articles with Catherine Martin, I asked why nothing was mentioned of the Valedictorian of the ISA program, that was captured for attempting to assassinate President Bush. “The Islamic Saudi Academy is a private school under the umbrella of the Royal Saudi Academy and is but one of twenty Saudi funded schools in the United States.” Catherine continues, “With the mountains of evidence in the USCIRF findings and the August 2008 New English Review article Behind the Veil at the Saudi Academy by Jerry Gordon and Isabella Cruz, which relates the shocking accounts of former ISA faculty members, the implications of the assassination plot on our President would not bode well for the continued operation of all twenty of the U.S. Madrassas. But the fact of the matter is that if the Islamic Saudi Academy is revealed as a breeding ground for future terrorists against the United States and Israel then every state with a Royal Saudi Academy would voice their concern. What will it take to expose the school? What will it take to have the county refuse to renew their lease and shut them down here in Virginia? It certainly doesn’t matter to the school’s supporters (ala Gerry Connolly), that a past valedictorian was part of the nationally known paint-ball terror cell whose mission was to assassinate the President of the United States. Others who have attended the school have also supported jihad against the United States. These facts beg the question: since when is it okay for us to have a school for terrorists in the United States? The State Department has a duty to make a ruling on the ISA curriculum here in Fairfax, so that other state and county seats can properly meet the threat of radical Islam across America.”

Moving on from the ISA topic, in closing, I asked Catherine Martin what other projects were ramping up for the ACT! for America NoVa/DCMetro chapter for February. Without skipping a beat, Martin forges ahead, “For this month, the ACT! For America Northern Virginia/DC Chapter is working with the United American Committee on a major problem that is happening in our local college, George Mason University (GMU). We have discovered that GMU has taken money from the Islamic Supremacist organization IIIT to establish an Islamic Studies Chair for the school. This is the continuation of Islamist domination at GMU preceded by: the student meditation room being converted to a mosque; the installation of footbaths at the tax payer’s expense; a school treasurer using her GMU webpage to solicit donations for local madrassas; the school’s establishment of a Halal menu; and lastly, the forcing out of critical members of the staff. Our goal will be to reverse the process of Islamist influence at GMU. ACT! For America and the United American Committee will put significant pressure on GMU and elected officials this month. GMU’s acceptance of $1.5 million from IIIT will not be answered with silent assent. The ACT! For America NoVa/DC Chapter has also been invited to attend the screening of the Christian Action Network’s documentary, Homegrown Jihad: Terrorist Camps Around U.S. on February 11th at 7:30pm at the Landmark Theater in Washington DC (between 11th and E Street). The movie is about radical Islamic compounds that are currently operating around the United States under the direction of an international terrorist. We are supporting this movie and encourage everyone in the DC area to attend. Documentaries like this prove that Radical Islam is on the move in communities all over the United States.”

That used to be me up there voting with all the intelligence of the couch potato. This is why I am so angry at the left. It isn't just the media, its the colleges and the high schools and now the grade schools as well. The nightly news has the biggest impact, but you can't find the truth even if you go to those supposed informed individuals. Michael Medved just released his new book "Ten Big Lies About America" and the issues covered are not anywhere near as obscure as "which party is in control of Congress right now?"

I'm not just mad about being lied to, I'm scared for our nation because I've been lied to since 1974 about our history and heritage in school, on the nightly news, and in our libraries. It took a major attack on our own soil to wake me up. It took looking into the history of the theopolitical religion of Islam to suspect that I'd been lied to. It took being a Christian and therefor a target of that media bias to wake me up. I have no mercy for people who still depend on the nightly news to be informed. I am so mad at the preponderance of misinformation that I unload on friends and family when they repeat some version of that crap.

Last night I unloaded on a blog neighbor because she told me her grandson had been diagnosed with ADHD, the made up childhood disease that had to be invented to explain boys' behavior which is naturally aggressive and energetic but does not fit in the 'sit still and pay attention' model of the modern classroom largely populated by women teachers. So they pump them full of psychotropic drugs for years on end and convince them they are abnormal and faulty.  Oh, and by the way, you can't play tag because we might be sued.

I am so angry at these liars born out of our colleges where the professors are convincing the pop culture that we, the US are the evil imperialists in the world and that success in business equals greed and evil. I am so angry that I was convinced of all that via the nightly news. Global warming, overpopulation, right is wrong and left is smart, socialist government cures evil, and a dozen other great big fundamental lies perpetrated over and over for 34 years that I have observed and who knows how long before that. No wonder the persecution of Christianity is growing in this nation. No wonder wisdom is rejected for pop anti-wisdom mantras.

I'm pissed off. Originally, enough so to go online and start writing about it. Now, enough so to take action, donate money from my meager means, join activist groups and parade around like the homosexuals acting a fool to get the milk toast voters' attention. Enough so that I call my idiot Congress people and inform them of their idiocy and demonstrate it publicly. And I am not done. I just get madder the more I observe this vast conspiracy to name good evil and evil good.

I actually daydreamed about leaving a little surprise for the major local paper and TV news. It took real consideration of the consequences to my ideals to get past that. Watching the gays undermine their own agenda with all this violence verified that decision was the correct one, but I am still and ever more pissed off at them. Even talk radio and especially Michael Medved is shrugging his shoulders at the thwarting of the constitutional requirements to qualify a candidate. Yes, this is a constitutional crisis and it cannot be ignored. To do so would doom our national ideals. We didn't create the crisis, the Democrats and the complicit media did. Now, now is the time to make that huge stink about the authority of that grand document. Now is the time to make them reconsider their actions. The people chose!!!! No they didn't. They chose an illusion, a major media rock star and this documentary proves it.

Fire the organized media.  Forbid them abdicating their national responsibility.  (To the press alone; checkered as it is with abuses, the world is indebted for all the triumphs which have been gained by reason and humanity over error and oppression.- James Madison)  Cancel your subscriptions.  Turn the idiot box off when the nightly news comes on.  You can't believe them anyway.  Its an industry geared toward entertainment, not information and the anchors, editors and producers have set out to make a king.  Seek out trustworthy venues of information.  My new TV is my computer.  I can get the entertainment alphabet soup offers online and I can choose my own information sources from anywhere in the world.  Who needs the MSM?  Hollywood isn't any better.  They dumped billions into movies that tanked because America wouldn't pay to watch movies that discredit our troops and their commanders across the world.  But they kept producing them because they either believed what they produced or just as likely wanted to convince you they were producing the truth.

Get informed and stay informed and then get out there on the street and inform others.  Picket the news agencies with blown up copies of their lying stories on your pickets and placards.  Demonstrate in their faces with the verified sources of information which refute their articles.  Get blown up copies of the studies demonstrating their biased coverage of the candidates.  Get the news out there, be the news.  Make such a ruckus the tv news have to do interviews with you criticizing them on their own networks.  In my last article I linked a video of a news anchor equating the victim of hate with the haters.  That is a prime example of what I'm talking about.  Hold the press accountable on their coverage of the candidates.  The studies are in, the evidence is clear, make them report on their own shame.

If you are not familiar with the story of Kevin Kammerdiener and his trek into the Army and Afghanistan and back you are missing an important one.  Kevin was injured by a suicide attack on his convoy and his single mom (Leslie Kamm) had started this blog prior to his deployment.  I have linked this to the beginning page as the whole thing should be read in chronological order starting 24th February 2008.  So you'll have to read from the bottom up to get it in the appropriate chronological order.  It is a journal detailing everything from attending his Airborne jump class and graduation to receiving the news of his injuries through present day struggles and progress in recovery.  This is an important story being lived by thousands of our brave men and women and their families and rarely told via the major media outlets.  Please take the time to familiarize yourself with this very uncommon journal of very common stories of our military volunteers' and their families' sacrifices for our freedom and security.  It is a journey you will not want to miss.

For those with shorter attention spans, this video relates visually the modus operendi of the survivor mentality.  When the worst thing you can imagine has happened and there is nothing left but the consequences, you can either give in and let your life pass before your eyes, or you can take whatever options left available to you and do with them what you can.  You might be amazed at how well you come out of it.  In other words, sitting their like a victim and letting the inevitable happen ensures your victimhood.  Fight it!  Fight it to the bitter end and write your own destiny for as long as you possibly can.  You can always deal with the victimhood after the opportunity to fight is passed.

Yes sir, we held the line.  Those elitist judges didn't get to make that law stick.  The law they legislated from the bench.  We've amended the California state constitution to specifically define marriage as between one man and one woman.  Other states also held the line during this election cycle as well.  In fact, everywhere it was placed before the people, Red state, Blue state, it didn't matter.  The people want marriage defined as between one man and one woman.

Over at the group, "Rethinking the Church and its Relationship to the Community" I watched this video posted by Butt Rock Ken of Mark Lowry interviewing Tony Campolo.  Now I oppose Tony Campolo's work on separation of church and state, but the rest of his writings, sermons, speeches and thoughts are utterly clear, sound thinking.  In this interview he demonstrates this in recounting the difference between power and authority.  So this is the seed of this article.

In my experience, the church is involved in sacrificing for their community and for the world.  Every church I have been a member of (admittedly a small number) has been involved in giving food, services, and care to their communities and giving to poor and needy people around the world.  I don't mean giving out of their wealth either.  I mean often giving when they are in need.  I agree with Tony Campolo's assessment about authority and in my opinion the church does earn that authority.  While there are instances of some churches trying to impose political will on the nation at large, this is not to be confused with the authority bought and paid for by sacrificial giving.  As Mother Theresa had the moral clout to speak to college kids about their immoral lifestyles and to President Clinton about abortion, the giving church has moral clout to speak to their communities about their immoral policies.  This is where I believe Tony deviates from his own message on the separation of church and state.  Tony is himself involved in politics, why then would he suggest that the church should not be involved in the same way.  Is it the organizational aspect of the Christian voice?  What then?  Are we to leave the political power to the secularists who've demonstrated an effective collectivist activism and influence on the political system?  It would be a suicide of reason and result in the loss of our fundamental right to freedom of religion to vacate the opposition of the anti-Christian movement.

My greatest criticism goes to the main stream media and to the generation which disrespects authority.  The generation that had as one of its mantras "Never trust anybody over thirty."  Another is "Speak truth to power" as if power is by definition seats of deception and corruption.  Positions of power are not born in corruption though they have been and some currently are filled with corrupt individuals.  Jack Murtha is the first to come to mind.  Those powers were born of necessity for a civil society to function.  We try to judge which candidates would fill those roles to best benefit the society they govern.  This brings us to the crux of Christian involvement in political activism.  Who better to judge who has moral clout?  Who better to influence those powers for the benefit of society than those willing to sacrifice of themselves for that community?  The media influence on the popular view of religious people is similar to the one we see in the arena of science debate.  Christians have real reasons to debate the theory of evolution, but we have been shut out of the discussion and ridiculed for our belief in a Designer.  Our explanation for the existence of everything has been labeled 'fanatic' and 'superstitious.'  This view has progressed to the point that our belief is banned from the institutions of education.  The media continues this system of demarcation by putting a ? in front of every interview with a religious figure, yet it is those same Christians who are sacrificing of themselves to go to the drug addicted, pimps, poor, homeless, and even into the prisons to bring about real benefit to those trapped in their circumstances.
