From intimidation tactics to outright violent attacks are being perpetrated on the organizations who supported Prop 8 all across this nation. This is terrorism and in every case, if the roles had been reversed the legal actions that would have been taken not to mention the media coverage that would have been dedicated to 'informing' the public would have sparked an outrage that would have undermined any credibility of those organizations. However, since the crimes are being committed by a protected group, the media have been all but silent and in at least one case the commentator equated the criminal activity with that of the victims of that crime calling both sides hate filled and angry.
This episode of obfuscation is but one more step toward the outright persecution and expunging of religion and conservatism in our land. City councils have in the past condemned the religious organizations for their stance on the issue of family values in opposition to calling the same sex relationship equivalent and God ordained marriage. We are headed for dark times in this world as believers. Though there are official gay voices denouncing this behavior, they are being drowned out by the vast numbers of very vocal proponents of their agenda.
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council
"We are going to see, I think, unprecedented attacks against our faith
through measures like the hate crimes [legislation] to the Employment
Non-Discrimination Act," he says. "We're going to see attacks on
innocent human life through the Freedom of Choice Act, trying to erase
all the gains that have been made in the pro-life movement. And I think
even our freedoms are going to come under attack."
Please act immediately to defend the pro-family victory won in California last week when the people of California passed a constitutional amendment (Proposition 8) by a 52%-48% margin to protect marriage as the union of a man and a woman. Since Election Day, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) has made statements supporting demonstrations against Proposition 8, and urging California 's Supreme Court to block the amendment's enforcement.
There are political streams of thought that would deny the church the freedom to speak the truth as it understands it. If that happens, can the age of martyrs be far behind?
Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope: That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it! Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
History Of Man: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to
great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from
abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency
to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage –
Alexander Tylers
The great cycle of faith living can be modified, interrupted, as seen in the several Jesus movements over this past century. The Azusa Street outpouring and many other examples were exactly that. A movement back toward Christ and the faithful church. We who believe should first pray and then act in accordance with the Spirit who guides us. It is very likely that the California Supreme court will again try to thwart the will of Californians to support this lobbying agenda to ruin everything this country was built upon. Its not just the issue of homosexual marriage, its naming pornography free speech and devaluing the life of every human being. There is so much more going on than destroying the family values that have made and kept this country strong. Eventually, it will come down to the demonizing of our world view.

Your post is awesome, I've been thinking of putting together a "Why do the nations rage" post.
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
With the World Pride events in Jerusalem and earthquakes that followed, coupled with Annapolis...the Temple Mount Wall that collapsed in 2004...the hole in the Temple from 2/15/08 earthquake.
I searched for a time line of Israel current events. Initial finds do not pull World Pride/weather/war-peace events together.
Sure would be interesting to see what inter-relation there might be.
Mormon's never ever in their history have had justice from such religious persecution, yes, even in the USA. They've had their wives and daughters raped, their children murdered, the husbands tarred and feathered at many times over their history. They created a beautiful city out of a swamp that was once bigger than Chicago (Nauvoo Illinois), because people couldn't accept what they believed in they drove them out.
Those of other religions once picked Mormon churches and temples because of the lies and hatred of others, and many many years old talk and good will have minimized these. Ridiculous rumors and stories still abound but those in the know can now recognize hate for what it is. Mormons can now hold the hands of those of other faiths and say "now you understand" and "this is only the beginning." This is no longer a difference in doctrines it is now the very rights of all churches being threatened.
Now all can put away their petty differences and fight for their freedoms, their liberties, and their idea of who their God is. I guarantee you that Mormons would come to the rescue of any church that was in need of defense of their meeting house, with no strings attached, and they would only hope others would join them in defense of their sacred places.
If anyone is interested in how much Mormons love the Constitution and this country and love the idea of liberty and the freedom of religion? Simple, pick up one of their Books of Mormon and open it the book of "Alma" chapter 46 and read about a similar thing happening and its patriotic solution.
Even Jesus told his Apostles not to rebuke those that were casting out evil spirits without Jesus' or the Apostle's authority. He essentially said they aren't the enemy, stop trying to say they are doing something wrong. They aren't against me, but are on our side. He knew people eventually come around with positive reinforcement than with endless rebuke.
How do Mormon's feel about fighting for this country and their liberties? Ever hear of the Mormon Battalion? Here are the Mormon's recently driven out of their homes in Nauvoo Illinois, their leader murdered, essentially every legal recourse they had blocked by corruption, all the way to the Presidency, they are walking hundreds of miles, many on bare feet, to the desolate Salt Lake Valley, then out of US territory (called the "California territory"), and while traveling they were approached by the US Army, asking for volunteers to help fight the Mexican war. Guess, what? Many volunteered. It was quite large a battalion. They left their wives and children behind and in the car of the others to head down to California (San Diego) to fight a war because their country (which had just betrayed them again) asked them to do.
Whether you doctrinally agree with Mormon's or not, I guarantee you that you want them fighting next to you on your side. They cherish liberty and will fight to the death to preserve it for not only themselves but their "neighbors" too.
Mormons believe this land is a blessed and cursed land. Blessed with liberty and abundance when the people live righteously and cursed when they give into pride, greed, sexual deprivation and idol worship.
Mormons believe churches have a right to dictate how ordinances, ceremonies, and worship are to be conducted without outside interference, as long as such actions are not perverse or a danger to human life and liberty. They also believe one church has no right to enforce their rules of conduct on others not of their faith (no burkas etc.). They also believe any enforcement is limited to excommunication as its severest form. In other words Sharia law has no place in the USA.
Mormons believe everything is centered on Jesus Christ, the son of God. Salvation only comes through his grace. Accepting him as your savior from sin is a requirement for this to happen. Mormons believe Muslims have a right to worship in their mosques and homes, but do not have a right enforce their rules and limitations on others for their own convenience. They do not have a right to kill their people for apostasy or immorality as they view it. If the secular law says one wife, then you only get one wife.
