Geert Wilder's Speech to Parliament

Comments

I wasn't aware Mr. Wilder had a degree in Islamic theology. Please consider the following points...

1. He has never read the Qur'an. The Qur'an is an Arabic book, translated it is not the Qur'an. When a translation takes place, the translator must choose a word from a selected list of English words. Much meaning is lost.

2. The Bible can be taken out of context just as easily... Meaning I can bring many, many verses that appear to incite hatred, racism, murder, sexual perversion, etc. However, I know that is not representive of Chrisitianity, so I wouldn't spend my time spreading hate when I know it's not accurate. The Qur'an cannot be read without interpretation, that's a fact.

3. Mr. Wilder is supposedly all about "free speech." Since nothing is too sacred to him, I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem if a book was written advocating the Holocaust was a myth. We all know the Holocaust occured, the point is that to him and many others, freedom of speech is monopolized and can only be used to their favor. Islam is open to criticism but not abuse. If he really wanted to be critical, he would ask questions to real Islamic clerics like, "Why does Islam say this..?" or "What is the meaning of this Qur'anic verse?" Instead he simply insults, trying to cause an uproar. If I walk down the street and insult someone's mother, technically I have the right to do so, however, I should be smart enough to realize that the person whose mother I insulted may give me the gift of a punch in the face.

We don't have to have a degree in anything to see the difference in the behaviors of those people on the evening news reports every night. And the news is doing a very poor job of getting us the information we need. I'm not depending on the TV anymore. In fact, I rarely even turn it on anymore. But youtube and the comments made on relevant videos is sure revealing. I used to be on Yahoo answers all the time, and I ran into defenders of Islam, even radical Islam all the time. This is not happening one little corner of the world like the school shooting you referred to on another article. This is daily and its all over the world. And its not being answered by Muslims as the school shootings, abortion clinic bombing, or Oklahoma City which are years old. Years old events=daily attacks? Not hardly. Random lone nuts=concerted efforts by multiple organizations? Nope. Muslims must get on the right side of this fight if they/you want any credibility. Muslims in Iraq are starting to get it now because their lives are on the line. They watch our news, they see that half of us want to abandon that fight, they know that the Muslims fighting Americans there are not who they want in power there. Afghanistan is coming into the fold of freedom as well. Do the freedom loving people have to do it without the mosques, without the Muslims in free lands? It appears so. The mosques in free lands are giving you this idea that Muslims are victimized by the free people. That we are imperialist, that we support Israel and that Israel is bad to the Muslims. Try getting information from other sources for a while. Try getting the story from people who are not told by the Qu'ran to lie to the infidel. The imperialists are the Muslims who are taking over countries by force without provocation. Countries like Darfur, Sudan, Somalia, etc., and doing similar work from within in countries like France, Italy, Spain, Holland, etc., That's Wilders' concern. That's why he was elected. He ran on the anti-immigration platform. He won because the people see the daily threat to their way of life and voted for his awareness of the problems and for his plan of action to correct those problems. That's why the movie, and that's why you can believe what the movie portrays. I have multiple ex-Muslims say "There is no such thing as Islamophobia." A phobia by definition is an unreasonable fear. Fear of Islam is not unreasonable.
