Finally, Finally

Comments

Good to see you blogging again, Judgebob. I had gotten used to a new post from you about everyday, and hadn't seen anything from you in over a week. But it was worth the wait! This blog post is excellent! And I love the title "Finally, Finally"...although I would probably say, "About Freakin' Time!" McCain needs to listen to his supports, who say "enough Mr. Nice-guy"! It's clear the MSM is not going to do their job, so it's about time that the McCain camp brings all this to light to enlighten the average American.
[this is good]
Long overdue!!! Probably too little, too late, but better than nothing. My point of disagreement is Condy Rice. She drank the Shrub-Aid, and turned me off for good. My vote will go to Alan Keyes Nov. 4.
Wouldn't the true issues be things like uh the war and the market failing and the economy imploding and things like that
My main point on Condi was the left's racist attacks against her proving their hypocrisy on the topic. She may be too malleable on foreign affairs but I have to say, "Which state secretary hasn't been in the last 8 administrations?"
I made some pretty strong predictions on the bailout attempt and wanted to wait for the other shoe to drop before I came back. Today the other shoe hit the dirt and the dust cloud is not yet made its full impact.

It was a nice break. I spent the weekend watching news and movies.
I forgot to hit it again.
Wye, yes! and McCain is addressing those issues and pointing out exactly what O's record is on all of those issues. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Obama's stance on the war seems to have changed, and McCain [read: The Party]'s position on the economy seems to have failed entirely, resulting in this bailout. Sure, it was Clinton who signed the deregulation, but that was a neoliberal move, the same type of economic policy the Republicans have been pursuing. I don't know what Obama's position is, but it seems like nobody in this election actually knows how to be anything other than a partisan hack, attacking their opponent's character rather than promoting effective policies.
A comment on the media: If Obama really was a serious threat to national security, don't you think the conservatives at Fox News would leap at the chance to expose him? Their ratings would surely explode into the ionosphere. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain from their current and potential future viewers if they were to expose a genuine 'Manchurian Candidate'. It doesn't seem very likely that Obama's associations with 'bad muslims' are an actual issue. Especially given that some of them are related to him by blood, so he doesn't really have a choice whether or not he has an association with his cousin in Kenya or whatever.
I hope America does the right thing November 4th. The media surely hasn't help the rights cause, They have been to busy throwing thier underwear at Obama.
Can you provide links or something to the racist comments about Rice from left-leaners? I haven't heard them and am curious.

All of these were published by left wing papers or blogs and main stream newspapers.
Most of those seems like ill-advised criticism of Rice as a subservient black woman [versus Powell who eventually abandoned his post] serving the interests of an administration/party that is very very 'white' [note that black commentator is not likely to be full of anti-black racists]. It's criticizing tokenism as condescending and Rice as a particularly un-black. I'm no authority on racial politics in America, but it seems that she's being insulted and criticized on that level rather than a hateful, racist level.
Clarence Thomas is constantly called an Uncle Tom by the left blogs. Condi was characatured with humongous lips in a main stream paper. Thomas Sowell receives the most hate filled comments on his blog directly critical of his un-blackness. Be honest. There is far more extroverted racism going on from the left and the Democrats than the Republicans. Point out the vast right wing racist attacks on Barack. Its not his skin color that he gets hammered on, but its his religious roots and background. Far different. Especially since he has both current and past affiliations with radical elements of both Christianity and Muslims.
Racial politics is more complex than I can follow without a handguide and I'm sure you are ignorant of its workings too. Identity issues are a big part of postcolonial development, figuring out who you are separate from the expectations and enforced values of the colonizers and all that.

Rice is also a woman, and they always have caricatured huge lips. Compared to the other caricatures youve linked to, her lips are tiny [I was honestly confused when people criticized those cartoons as having big lips. Her lips were smaller than anyone's, including Bush's].

I don't really care about right wing racist attacks. Maybe the Republican party used them all up in 2000 when Karl Rove spreads rumours that McCain's adopted Bangladeshi daughter was his bastard by a negress?
